Local runners are being offered the opportunity to receive expert help and advice at a half-marathon training clinic this weekend.
The clinic will take place this Saturday 18th January at specialist running shop Coventry Runner in Burnaby Road, Radford and owner Sandy Clisham hopes that the clinic will be a real benefit to the hundreds of runners in Coventry and the surrounding area, who are busy preparing for local Spring half marathons.
“Runner of all abilities and experience are welcome to come along,” says Sandy, “particularly those that are planning to run the Coventry Half Marathon in March and who perhaps may want to have a chat about training or a little guidance on their race plans.
“We’ll have a number of running specialists in the shop throughout the day offering advice and help on training, nutrition and injury, as well as shoes and kit.
“Although we’re calling it a clinic, we hope that the session will be very informal and that runners will feel comfortable about just dropping in.”
As part of Saturday’s event, Coventry Runner is also playing host to the rapidly growing team of runners who will be raising funds for Zoë's Place Baby Hospice in the up-coming Coventry Half Marathon. Sandy Clisham says,
“We are really proud to be an event partner of Team Zoë's and will be helping them as much as we can both on Saturday and in the build up to the race.”
