Fierce competition but lots of healthy fun was the order of the day at the Coventry Primary Schools Boys' Cross Country Championships.
The traditional course at Keresley Grange was at its boggiest to welcome young runners from all over the city, many clearly enjoying the thrills of cross-country running for the first time.
The A race was won by Stivichall's Jasper Tetlow, although his storming run was not quite enough to wrestle the team race from Bablake, who packed well for a clear win. Stivichall clinched second place from Allesley Primary in third.
Stivichall gained revenge in the B race, filling the front of the race to beat Bablake into second, with Allesley showing their strength in depth to again take third. The B race was won by Mount Nod's Jake Minshall with a brilliant display of front running.
